Dependent Weakling - Snapshot #1

Hi it's been like so many weeks since the last post LOL oops..... burned out really hard last month but finally getting back on my feet with this blog!!

I finished The Other Promise and have moved onto Dependent Weakling from NieR Automata!! I.. haven't actually played the game lol but the piano collections is 10/10 so here I am.

The octaves at 0:20 make me a littttttle nervous because at tempo it's awfully fast and getting the accuracy is hard at that speed but I think with enough practice it won't be a problem.

I play the LH in the section from 0:23 with CARE... I try to play the first beat as "sticky" and the second beat is staccato. The melody here is so majestic?? I always imagine like a castle.. maybe a bit of a rundown castle...

The flourish at 0:41 is absolutely one of my favorite moments in this clip haha it's a little tricky to nail the D chord right before it because it stretches my hand and I need time to "place" my fingers but it's manageable.

The chord change at 1:09 is extremely delicious and is a personal favorite moment of mine lol and the buildup at 1:17?? Also tasty.

Overall I need to still work on musicality here; the only part I really took care with was the LH at 0:23 lol but other than that I need to work out bringing out the melody and quieting down the supporting notes.

I've been playing this arrangement up to this point on and off for a couple of days recently and also tried my hand at it occasionally in between the other pieces so it came along much faster than it would have had I just started from scratch today.. but excited to tackle the rest of the piece. It's very needlessly dramatic at times, with very delicate phrases in between. I think it'll be a good learning experience for me.

Someday I will post clean takes of the other two pieces when they exist. I tried this past weekend but. I have such bad camera fright sometimes alkwjelfkjsalkjd
